Who Are We?

We are the National Panhellenic Council (SBU Panhellenic) at Stony Brook Univeristy, the governing body for the three Panhellenic sororities on campus: Alpha Sigma Alpha, Theta Phi Alpha, and Sigma Delta Tau.  Our council is made up of women from each sorority who work together to uphold the Panhellenic vision of fostering thriving sororities and create a strong sense of community on campus!

SBU Panhellenic promotes common shared values of sisterhood, philanthropy, serivce, leadership, friendship, integrity, and community with its chapters. One of our key roles is facilitating formal recruitment during the spring semester. We consistely work to ensure the recruitment process is fair, welcoming, and accessible for all our potential members.

While each chapter hosts their own sisterhood and philanthropy events, we also collaborate as a council to create meaningful impact. Each year SBU Panhellenic hosts a "NPC Thirft Shop" in support of Breast Cancer Awareness and participates in WolfieThon, a year-long fundraising initiative in partnership with the Andrew McDounough B+ Foundation. Last year, our Panhellenic chapters raised over $40,000 for Wolfiethon which directly supports children and families affected by childhood cancer!

Why Should You Join?

Joining a sorority at Stony Brook University means becoming part of a supportive and inclusive community that promotes sisterhood, leadership, and academic excellence. The Panhellenic experience is about more than just membership-it's about personal growth, lifelong friendships, and creating meaningful change both on campus and beyond.
