



Eligibility for Recruitment
All students participating in the Panhellenic Recruitment process MUST be full-time, regularly enrolled Stony Brook University undergraduate students, have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade-point average, and have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Credit hours must be accrued during matriculation at a college campus. Advanced placement credits or other credits acquired prior to high school graduation cannot be included. This means that first-semester freshmen are not eligible for formal recruitment. Transfer students are eligible provided proper verification from a previous college or university attended is presented to the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life indicating the completion of at least 12 credits with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Financial Committment
*There is a small fee of $15 (+ $1.50 convenience fee) to participate in recruitment, which covers the cost of our software (this system) and recruitment events. Please do not pay the registration fee unless you are 100% confident you are eligible and available to participate in recruitment, as we cannot refund this fee. The fee must be paid by Sisterhood Round (Feb 7th).
Time Committment
Spring 2025 Primary Recruitment will be an in-person experience. Full details and schedule of the recruitment process will be shared with Potential New Members (PNMs) in advance. PNMs must attend all events they are invited to participate in or provide an appropriate excuse prior to the event in order to be eligible to receive a bid.

Excusals are granted for the following reasons: Academic Conflict, Religious Conflict, and Health related. Failure to participate in a recruitment round may result in being removed or released from the recruitment process. February 5, 2025
What to Expect Information Session (Attendance Highly Encouraged)
This information session will give you an introduction to the formal recruitment process. SBU Panhellenic's council will provide a presentation on our chapters, what each day of recruitment entails, time committment, recruitment and new member fees, and more. This is the last opportunity to ask questions before formal recruitment begins!
February 7, 2025
Sisterhood Round (Mandatory)
During this round you will meet all 3 chapters for 30 minutes each. Each sorority will share an introduction to their chapter, their values and social aspects of their sisterhood. Then, you will have time to speak to sisters about their experiences.
February 8th, 2025
Philanthropy Round (Mandatory)
During this round, you will visit up to 3 chapters for 45 minutes each. You will get an aquainted with the philanthropies of each chapter and get a deeper understanding of each sorority. Then, you will have time to speak to sisters about their experience.
February 9th, 2025
Preference Round (Mandatory)
During this round, you will visit up to 2 chapters for 1 hour each. Each chapter will share their ritual with you followed by time to speak with sisters. These rituals are specific and special to each organization.
February 10th, 2025
Bid Day (Mandatory)
This is the final rou of recruitment. If you receive and accept a bid from a chapter, you will get to run home and attend a bid day celebration with the sisters and other potential new members who accepted their bid!
